Jathan Scotte Maricelli is currently the Senior Pastor at The Pentecostals of Lee Road in Covington, LA. He is a former Jr High School Teacher and Church Planter. Jathan is also a musician and writer. He is married to Sarah, and they have 4 children: Scotty, Hayden, Colbie and Anders.
Jathan has served on the Executive board of the Rotary Club in the local communities of Ruston, LA and Covington, LA. He is a sworn Chaplain for the St Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office. Jathan has also had several articles published in various publications.
When Jathan isn’t spending time bike riding with his family, he enjoys playing basketball and golf. He also likes cheering on the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints and Pelicans.
Jathan received his call to ministry at a young age and preached his first sermon at the Pentecostals of Lee Road at the age of 17. Not his best message, but certainly his most memorable.
In 2003, Jathan became licensed with the UPCI, married Sarah and moved to Chicago, IL to work in church planting. After a few years in the midwest, God opened a door for them to move to Ruston, LA and plant a church. Jathan founded and pastored LifePoint Church of Ruston for over 7 years. It was also in Ruston where three of Jathan’s children were born.
While Jathan experienced many wins in Ruston, it was not without its challenges. Not the least of which was their oldest son Scotty being diagnosed with epilepsy. Therefore, in 2015 due to ministry burnout Jathan resigned from LifePoint and moved back home to southeast Louisiana to rest and recover.
Burned out, broken and depressed, Jathan thought he never would or could pastor a church again. But God had other plans. Although the process was long and arduous, after three years of healing and restoration, Jathan entered full-time pastoral ministry again. Jathan has been the Senior Pastor of The Pentecostals of Lee Road for three years and is having the time of his life.
Because of his ministry struggles, Jathan is passionate about ministering to people who feel as if their best days are behind them. His hope is that through personal discipleship and the amazing grace of God battered and broken people will rise from the ashes and soar again.
